Series of drawings (14,8x21cm) – 2020-2021
Originally drawn in the presence of live models, the works later shifted to a remote protocol imposed by the Covid-19 lockdown. Focusing on figures from the cultural world, this series becomes an homage to those whom the health crisis rendered invisible. While the public voraciously consumed culture online to get by, many cultural professionals were left idle—eventually being officially deemed ‘non-essential’ by the government. In isolation, these portraits recreate a paradoxical sense of connection and presence: the memory of the mask never fades.





























Many people in France were out of work because of all the Covid19 pandemic restrictions. It especially concerned the people working in the art field, cinema and live performance. Like everybody I felt isolated and didn’t earn much money. I decided to use my most affordable practice : hand drawing so I could pay tribute to all my fellow artists and cultural work friends. Of course, making portraits during a pandemic became pretty ironic.
