The Sleep
Interactive video installation

In a grainy video (night shot) presented like a painting, a naked woman is lying with her back to the viewer. The screen surface is touch sensitive. A sensual, erotic relationship begins with the image.
Adam’s CAM and Le Sommeil do not stage a real transgression, but the very fantasy of control.
The promised interactivity is a lure: the viewer acts, yet masters nothing.
The exposed body is not a victim, but a mirror held up to a gaze that believes it possesses.
The work does not celebrate voyeurism; it dismantles its mechanism and reveals its arrogance.
The discomfort lies not with the sleeping figure, but with the one who looks.
