In the film The Wizard of Oz, Dorothy leaves her banal reality to explore the imaginary land of Oz. Nostalgic for reality, she ends up launching the famous ‘there’s no place like home’.
We discover at the end of the film that the antagonist, a large supernatural face proclaimed a magician, is only a manipulated mask which hides behind him a simple little man without magical powers.
In the two drawings which form a double-sided display here, where the character is enclosed in his own virtual face, we find this duality. The question then arises: is he a prisoner, a puppeteer… or both?
